CHIROPRACTIC CARE

Chiropractic (meaning "done by hand") is a branch of healthcare that focuses on the detection and manual correction of altered function and orientation of the joints, spine, and extremities. The goal of Chiropractic is to maintain health without resorting to drugs or surgery where possible.

At Harris Chiropractic, we also use specialized techniques and soft tissue manipulation to restore movement and relieve pain.

Chiropractic Manipulations

Chiropractic manipulations, also known as Chiropractic "adjustments", are an important part in rehabilitative care for individuals experiencing pain, joint stiffness/tightness, or lost range of motion.

You may hear a joint cavitate, which is the popping sound made when a person cracks the knuckles or another joint. This sound is produced when gasses such as nitrogen and oxygen are released from the joint fluid.

Joint manipulation is just one of the many different therapies that we employ at our facility and do not blindly use it with every patient for every condition.

Joint manipulation is not based on alignment and is not necessary for every patient. When deemed necessary, it is utilized to restore functionality, range of motion and to decrease pain.

Tired of assembly line chiropractic care, where everyone gets the same treatment? Tired of only seeing your chiropractor for 3 minutes per visit? Have you been adjusted for over two months without much change in your condition? Dr. Jeff Harris believes that the joints and soft tissues are intimately connected and treats the muscle, fascia, and connective tissue on every patient that receives chiropractic care. When you remove the muscle knots and trigger points, and break up scar tissue using techniques like Graston Technique, myofascial release, and shockwave therapy your adjustments can be more effective and your recovery faster!

Our typical style of adjusting is "diversified", which means we use a hands on approach. This is the best style of adjustment for each area of the body. Most adjustments are typical chiropractic adjustments that may cause a pop/crack, but we also utilize drop table, flexion distraction, traction, and more.

Many people are afraid it will hurt to be adjusted as they are already in a lot of pain. It is a normal reaction to be protective of a wounded area, however, we strive to keep you comfortable and many times relief is felt immediately as muscles are relaxed and able to let go.

Have an extremity problem like plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, or rotator cuff impingement?  We even adjust feet, knees, hips, hands, elbows, and shoulders!
